A blistering three-goal salvo in the first half proved insurmountable for the visitors this evening, as we showcased our attacking prowess and midfield dominance in a decisive victory.

From the first whistle, despite playing into the strong breeze, it was clear that we were intent on asserting our authority early on.

Tom Hoare gave an exhibition of midfield play in that blistering opening period, plucking balls from the sky and linking up superbly with our attack as we laid siege to the Beaufort goal.

Tom had willing assistants in wing backs Gearóid Dillane and Daniel Bowler, centre forward Jack Savage and the inside line of Conor Hayes, Conor O’Sullivan and the elusive Darragh O’Connor who led his marker a merry dance - add in the tireless Ben Hanafin whose hard running added another dimension to our attack and it was no surprise that we racked up a first half tally of 3-08 with the majors coming from Ben, Tom and Jack in the 3rd, 13th & 26th minutes respectively.

Beaufort struggled to make an impact on the scoreboard and had Fergal Hallissey to thank for two 2 pointers from frees along with points from play from Jack O’Connor and Josh Coffey.

While the relentless tempo of the first half could not be entirely maintained after the break, we exerted sufficient control to match anything the opposition could throw at us. .

Tom continued to orchestrate from midfield, dictating the pace and ensuring the visitors found no easy route back into the contest while Jack’s intelligent movement continued to create openings and keep the defence on their toes.

We added a further 8 second half points, Jack to the fore along with good scores from Barry John, Daniel Bowler and Conor Hayes - Beaufort,  to their credit kept attacking and were rewarded for their efforts with a goal in the final minutes; at that stage we had introduced Con Barrett, TJ Heaphy, Sam McCarthy, Ben O’Brien and Keelan Crowe as we ran out comprehensive winners.
