The 2026 Augusta Masters provided us with four days of unforgettable golf, culminating in a historic victory for Rory McIlroy. Showing incredible resolve, McIlroy shot a final-round 71 to finish at 12-under par, holding off a relentless, bogey-free weekend charge from Scottie Scheffler by a single stroke. In doing so, McIlroy became the first player since Tiger Woods (2001-2002) to successfully defend his title and win back-to-back Green Jackets.

The thrilling action on the course was more than matched by the sheer chaos of our own Kerins O'Rahillys Masters Challenge!

The club leaderboard was a rollercoaster from Thursday to Sunday. The early stages were defined by the dreaded cut line. Several big names had disastrous starts and missed the weekend, triggering devastating +10 shot penalties that blew up many of our entries.

Saturday's "Moving Day" saw the lead change hands yet again, with 'Rusty and Moody' surging to the top of our club standings. However, Sunday at Augusta is notoriously unforgiving. Relying heavily on Shane Lowry—who sadly saw his magical weekend run run out of steam—and Jason Day, the Saturday leaders suffered a heartbreaking collapse that dropped them out of the prize money entirely.

While the leaders stumbled, the chasing pack pounced. Mounting the ultimate late charge, Daniel Jokubaitis played an absolute blinder to leapfrog the field and take our 1st Place prize! Daniel drafted what can only be described as a dream team, anchoring his entry with McIlroy, Scheffler, and a slew of top finishers to card a staggering final score of -57.

Daniel was presented with his €750 winning cheque at the club by Chairman Oliver Molloy, his winning entry having been sold by senior player Keelan Crowe.

We would also like to extend our congratulations to our other prize winners from a highly competitive tournament weekend:

  • 2nd Place: Gérard Moran
  • 3rd Place: Jennifer Fusco
  • Consolation Prize (First entry to miss the cut): Ben Pierce
We want to send a huge thank you to every single person who entered a ticket, shared a link, and supported this fundraiser. Your contributions are the lifeblood of Kerins O'Rahillys, directly funding our facilities and youth development programs.
