Senior B Team – Shield Champions!

Huge congratulations to our Senior B team, who captured the Tralee/St. Brendan’s Junior League Shield in fine style at John Mitchels on Sunday with an emphatic 5-7 to 2-7 victory over Ballymacelligott.

It was a magnificent team display and a fantastic way to conclude the competition. Well done to all the players and management on bringing silverware back to Strand Road!

Historic Return of the Houlihan Cup

There was an electric atmosphere at Strand Road on Thursday evening as the Houlihan Cup made its long-awaited return for the first time in 47 years, reviving one of the club’s proudest traditions. First played in 1928 and last contested in 1979, the night drew a huge crowd into the stand to witness an outstanding display of juvenile football across two thrilling finals.

The evening began at 5:45 PM with all teams assembling for a parade, followed by official photographs before the action got underway on the pitch.

  • Shield Final: Despite opening under heavy rain, Team Danno Keeffe and Team Seán Walsh produced an evenly matched contest that remained level right into the final minute. A dramatic late burst saw goals from Noah Hussey and Eoin Bulman break the deadlock, sealing a hard-fought 5-6 to 3-8 Shield victory for Team Danno Keeffe. Credit to Team Seán Walsh for their incredible effort in a fantastic final.

  • Houlihan Cup Final: At 6:40 PM, Team John Dowling and Team David Moran took to the field in another torrential downpour, yet neither side let the conditions dampen the quality of play. After a titanic, end-to-end battle ended level at full time, the destination of the trophy came down to a Golden Score in extra time. It was Conor O’Shea who slotted over the decisive score, securing a dramatic 3-8 to 3-7 victory and crowning Team John Dowling as the first champions to lift the Houlihan Cup in 47 years!
Presentations followed in Charlie’s Bar, where Luke Kelly had the honour of lifting the cup as winning captain, while match-winner Conor O’Shea was named Player of the Tournament.

A very special thank you goes to the Houlihan family, and particularly Richie Houlihan, for their generous sponsorship and support in reviving this historic competition. Sincere thanks also to Gary Kissane for his top-class refereeing across both matches, to all the organisers, coaches and mentors, and to the families whose brilliant support made it an unforgettable night.

Gaelic4Mothers&Others – Tara Festival Weekend in Watford

Our Gaelic4Mothers&Others squad enjoyed a fantastic weekend in Watford as they took part in the Tara G4MO Festival.

Kerins O’Rahillys played four games during the festival, facing hosts Tara GFC, Kilmacabea of Cork, Mná le Chéile Ballinamore of Leitrim and fellow Kerry representatives Southern Gaels. Everyone had an opportunity to take to the field and demonstrate the progress the group has made throughout the season.

A huge thank you to Tara and the festival organisers for their warm welcome and hospitality, and to all the participating teams for a wonderful weekend of football, friendship and fun. Thanks also to Rhys for his coaching and dedication throughout the year and to Margaret at Charlie’s Bar & Bistro for her generous support of the team.

Well done to everyone who travelled and represented Kerins O’Rahillys and Kerry with distinction!

Juvenile Academy Season Wrap & Family Fun Day

Another fantastic year of football came to a close for our Juvenile Academy on Sunday morning as our young players enjoyed their final regular training session of 2026. Catering for boys and girls from U6 up to U10, it has been a tremendous season since kicking off indoors at the MTU Sports Academy on February 15th before moving outdoors to Pat Healy Park, Ballyrickard, on April 12th as the weather improved.

Along the way, our youngsters represented the Blues with pride in the Tralee St. Patrick’s Day Parade, took part in the Sponsored Walk and Summer Camp in July, and enjoyed competitive outings against Na Gaeil, Ardfert, Churchill and Austin Stacks, as well as memorable trips away to blitzes in Cork and Dublin.

On Sunday, alongside an energetic final morning at the Academy, our U8 boys travelled across to Connolly Park to face Austin Stacks, putting in a fantastic performance full of skill and teamwork.

Sincere thanks to all our coaches, volunteers and parents for their incredible commitment throughout the year!
