Did You Know? Friends of Strand Road Has Been Supporting Our Club Since 2009
Whether you live around the corner or on the other side of the world, Friends of Strand Road offers a way to support the club you love and help secure its future.
Behind the football, the friendships and the many activities that make Kerins O’Rahillys such an important part of our community is a dedicated group of supporters who have been quietly helping to sustain the club for over 15 years.
Established in 2009, Friends of Strand Road (FOSR) is one of the club's most important and dependable sources of funding. With membership of approximately 200 people, the initiative brings together former players, parents, families, lifelong supporters and members of the Strand Road community at home and abroad, all united by a shared commitment to the future of Kerins O’Rahillys.
Making a Real Difference to Our Club
Running a GAA club involves considerably more than what happens on the pitch on match day. From our youngest Juvenile Academy players taking their first steps in football to our adult teams representing the club, there are ongoing costs associated with coaching, equipment, facilities and the day-to-day running of the club.
Friends of Strand Road helps meet these costs, providing a reliable source of income that supports the club throughout the year. Over the years, this funding has made an important contribution to juvenile development, the wider football activities of the club and improvements to our facilities. It also helps put Kerins O’Rahillys in a stronger position to plan for the future, including the continued development of our facilities at Ballyrickard.
Unlike once-off fundraising events, Friends of Strand Road provides recurring financial support that the club can depend upon, helping to ensure that today's young players and future generations have the opportunities and facilities they deserve.
Supporting Strand Road, Wherever You Are
For many people, Kerins O’Rahillys remains an important part of their lives long after they've moved away from Tralee.
Whether you've relocated to Dublin, London, Australia, the United States or elsewhere, Friends of Strand Road provides a meaningful way to maintain that connection and continue contributing to the club's future. Indeed, some of our most loyal supporters have continued their membership from overseas for many years.
It's a simple but powerful idea: you don't have to be standing on the terraces at Strand Road every Sunday to remain part of the club and make a difference.
And with our Juvenile Academy continuing to welcome new families, Friends of Strand Road also offers parents and grandparents an opportunity to invest in the future of the club their children are growing up in.
What Are the Benefits of Membership?
